MISSING TEL AVIV

                                                                     
 
   Israel is not a country where you come for a change of scenery, but rather look for community bonds.
 
This site is for those who feel they are missing Israel, those who wait all year long the coming summer to come and enjoy Israel. For those, too, who come more often but still missing feeling home.
 
Because this feeling is unique, many of us are sharing it. But what is it that we feel so good about it. Surely not Israelis behaving badly who start on you and then befriend you, hence their name Sabra (prickly pear), thorny on the outside but sweet inside, then what?
 
Surely it is good to live among people who celebrate their religious holidays, who wear, in great numbers, yarmulkes, talith, black suits and bearded.
 
I was about to forget the sea, tha beach, Yafo the beautiful, the Tayelet, but it is not only those traits that make up its originality...
 
Let me make a point, what is striking here, in Israel and Tel Aviv in particular, it's the diversity, the effervescence of life all around us, so close you could touch it.
 
For instance, let an Israeli talk to you , after two questions, he knows exacltly who you are and how to get along. He will get to the bottom of things about you and may even teach you a thing or two about yourself.
 
Life is there and there... over the roofs of those buildings in Tel Aviv, which do not oppress you by their size, the Bauhaus architecture was humanistic one, putting man at the heart of it, thank you Mr Gropins...
 
It is a paradox, but Israel is not a change of scenery... it is a place where lies a strange informality. The dreamed life of any Jew who found his roots and fell good about it. We wai for summertime to come back to our sources and discover the diaspora jew to who we have so much in common. Begining by sharing the love of the Land and this city, Tel Aviv.
